Storm water used to be considered a nuisance and that it should be fast tracked to the sea. Most of the storm water drains are concrete lined and are designed to move water from urban regions and out to sea as fast as possible. They were designed to essentially prevent flooding.
This view has now changed and it is widely accepted that storm water is a valuable resource which can be captured for re-use. For the water to be re-used it must meet certain quality criteria. Water Data Services can design, build and manage a monitoring program which will:-
-
measure the quantity of water which is available for capture
-
measure the quantity of water captured
-
measure the quality of water before treatment
-
measure the quality of water after treatment
-
provide system control
-
provide a data management and presentation system
